Melville Island Lodge is one of Australia's premier and most respected guided sport-fishing Lodge operators. We are located on tropical Melville Island, a scenic 30 minute flight from Darwin, in the Northern Territory of Australia and are a fully accredited N.T. Government Fishing Tour operator. We have been exclusively operating here since 1998 and cater for anglers of all levels, and small corporate groups, seeking a remote, yet comfortable, fully guided sport-fishing experience.

We provide our clients with a professionally operated, high quality and personalised “catch & release” fishing adventure situated in a spectacular and pristine wilderness environment. Dominant fish species include barramundi and approximately 30 other species of quality river and coastal fish.

Our all inclusive packages range from short-stay trips and company incentives, through to extended fishing safaris that provide exclusive sport-fishing access to five magnificent and unspoiled river systems, plus a virtually untouched range of coastal and off-shore fishing destinations. Melville Island Lodge operates from two fabulous and exclusive locations on Melville Island; our main fishing Lodge located on the shores of Snake Bay (maximum 15), and our ultra-remote Johnson River Barramundi Camp (maximum 9) situated in the picturesque upper reaches of the Johnson River. From these two fantastic locations we offer our clients three exciting styles of fishing package:

Fishing at Melville Island Lodge: operating from March to December (minimum of 2 days) with daily fishing access to Snake Bay, Shark Bay, Jessie River and Goose Creek river systems, plus a wide range of coastal fishing options ... or

Fishing at Johnson River Barramundi Camp: operating from May to December (minimum of 4 days) with daily fishing access to the Johnson and Jessie Rivers, Robinson Inlet, plus a wide range of coastal fishing options….or

Extended Fishing Safaris: operating from May to December (minimum of 5 days) with accommodation at both Melville Island Lodge and Johnson River Barramundi Camp, with fishing access to the Jessie and Johnson Rivers, Snake Bay, Shark Bay and Goose Creek river systems, plus a HUGE range of coastal fishing options across the top end of Melville Island.
